“I will recover justice and common sense disrupted by Yoon Mee-hyang and the Korean Council.”

Among a large number of issues under the administration of the Democratic Party, one of the most shocking ones for the South Korean people was the “misuse of donations” allegedly committed by the Korean Council for Justice and Remembrance for the Issues of Military Sexual Slavery by Japan which was accused by Ms. Lee Yong-soo, a former comfort woman.
It is completely against the common sense of the public to embezzle donations to former comfort women who were deprived of their entire lives. However, the Democratic Party and a part of civic groups defended Lawmaker Yoon Mee-hyang.
The scandal of the Korean Council is a symbolic case that has revealed the real faces of several civic groups. For the honor of many other right-minded ones, the truth has to be thoroughly clarified. I have already publicized a commitment that transparency of budgets and responsibilities of the groups should be enhanced to prevent the recurrence of such scandals. Moreover, I will promote the passage of “Anti-Yoon Mee-hyang Law” to prevent their misappropriation of public funds and dubious accounting.
The Democratic Party should fully apologize for their past attitudes and show sincerity to actively work on the establishment of the “Anti-Yoon Mee-hyang Law” rather than belatedly express their intention to expel Lawmaker Yoon Mee-hyang as an election is approaching.
